Omniflora N is a traditional gastrointestinal medicine used to support intestinal function. It contains lactic acid bacteria that promote the development of the intestinal flora. The medicine is used to relieve symptoms such as intestinal sluggishness and diarrhoea. It is recommended to take the medicine exactly as directed. Adults should normally take one hard capsule three times a day. For acute symptoms, two hard capsules may be taken up to twice daily. After the symptoms have subsided, a maintenance dose of one hard capsule per day is recommended. In children over the age of one, one hard capsule should be taken once or twice a day. The medicine should be taken unchewed with some liquid. For administration to infants, the hard capsule may be opened and the contents added to a small amount of lukewarm liquid or porridge. The duration of taking Omniflora N is not limited, but a treatment of 7 to 10 days is recommended. If the symptoms of acute diarrhoea do not improve or worsen within 2 days, a doctor should be consulted immediately. Omniflora N should be kept out of reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date which is stated on the label. The hard capsules should be stored at room temperature and used within 2 months after opening the container. No overdose symptoms are known. No undesirable effects may occur. The medicinal product should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients. It is not suitable for use in infants under 1 year of age. The medicinal product should not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding unless specifically recommended by a doctor. No side effects may occur. The medicinal product contains lactose and sucrose. In case of allergy to ascorbic acid, cow's milk or bovine protein or intolerance to galactose, glucose, lactose or sucrose, appropriate precautions should be observed. In case of known interactions with other medicines, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before treatment with Omniflora N.
