Information for use with the article Magaldrat ratiopharm 800 mg Tablets: Magaldrat-ratiopharm 800 mg contains the active substance magaldrate and is used to treat heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. It belongs to the group of antacids that neutralise excess stomach acid. The medicine can also be used to treat stomach or duodenal ulcers. The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age is one chewable tablet several times a day if needed. The daily dose should not exceed 8 chewable tablets. The chewable tablets should be sucked or well chewed. The duration of use should not exceed 14 days. When storing the medicine, it should be kept away from heat and out of the reach of children. It should not be used after the expiry date. The package leaflet contains further information on possible risks and side effects. In case of overdose or uncertainty, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The medicine contains 800 mg of magaldrate per chewable tablet and other ingredients such as sorbitol, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and caramel flavouring.
