Directions for use of the article Rivanol solution 0.1 %: The medicinal product is a disinfectant/antiseptic and is used locally. It contains the active substance ethacridine lactate monohydrate. Rivanol Solution 0.1 % must not be used if you are hypersensitive to ethacridine lactate and other acridine derivatives or if it is to be used in the eye area. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use the medicinal product. The doctor or pharmacist should be consulted when using with other medicines. The usual dose is undiluted solution twice daily, which should be left to act for at least 30 minutes. The duration of use should not exceed seven days. Possible side effects are allergic reactions, swelling, rash, headache and cramps. The medicine should be kept at room temperature and away from light.
