Rivanol solution 0.1% is an antiseptic for topical use. It is used to reduce the number of germs on the skin, especially in wounds and ulcers. The solution contains ethacridine lactate monohydrate as the active ingredient. When using it, it should be noted that the medicine should not be used in the eye area and should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to ethacridine lactate and other acridine derivatives. The usual dose is to apply undiluted solution locally twice daily for at least 30 minutes. The duration of application should not exceed 7 days. Possible side effects are allergic reactions of the skin, swelling of the face, itchy rash, headache and mild cramps. The medicine should be kept away from light and out of the reach of children.
