Acticoat Flex 3 is an antimicrobial wound dressing that works through a high-dose and continuous release of silver.This wound dressing uses a patented silver application process, allowing it to release silver quickly and effectively.Acticoat Flex 3 forms an effective barrier against bacterial contamination for up to three days.This reduces the risk of infection and supports wound healing.The bandage adapts to the patient's movements and is also suitable for complex wound situations, which results in a high level of comfort.The non-sticky surface also minimizes pain when changing dressings.

Acticoat Flex 3 is an extremely supple, single-layer bandage that is also suitable for difficult wounds.The flexible material allows full contact with the wound surface.The long-lasting release of high doses of silver creates an antimicrobial barrier that reduces the risk of germs colonizing the wound and prevents infection.This barrier remains effective for up to three days, meaning fewer dressing changes are necessary.The wound dressing minimizes the risk of sticking to the wound, which means an atraumatic and painless dressing change for the patient.Acticoat Flex 3 can be used as a wound contact layer in combination with negative pressure wound therapy for a period of up to three days.

Acticoat Flex 3 is proven to be effective against more than 150 types of germs.Laboratory tests show that bacteria are killed within 30 minutes.The dressing reduces wound odor caused by bacteria and prevents the formation of biofilms, such as those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus.It is effective in vitro against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungal pathogens.In addition, Acticoat Flex 3 is effective in vitro against antibiotic-resistant bacteria such as Pseudomonas, MRSA and VRE.Depending on the amount of exudate, secondary fixation can be carried out using, for example, Allevyn foam dressings or film dressings such as Opsite Flexifix.The bandage is latex-free.

Areas of application

Acticoat Flex 3 is indicated as an antimicrobial protective dressing to cover wounds that penetrate part or all of the skin layers.These include burns, implantation sites, surgical sites, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers and diabetic ulcers.The dressing may also be applied to infected wounds, inspecting and treating the infection in accordance with applicable clinical protocols.Acticoat Flex 3 can be used as a wound contact layer in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) for up to three days.
