KOLLAGEN resorbTM is a soft, dimensionally stable collagen sponge that is used for local hemostasis.The product consists of collagen fibrils of equine origin, specifically from the Achilles tendons of horses.The careful depletion of non-collagenous components ensures a high safety profile.

Areas of application

KOLLAGEN resorbTM can be used in various medical areas.Possible indications include wound care and as a hemostatic agent for venous, capillary, diffuse and extensive bleeding from parenchymatous organs.It is also used as a temporary skin replacement for painless coverage, for example for leg ulcers, for covering skin donor sites and for temporary covering of 2nd and 3rd degree burns.It can also be used to fill defects and stop bleeding after cancellous bone removal or other orthopedic procedures. KOLLAGEN resorbTM is also suitable as a carrier material for fibrin glue and for stopping bleeding in various surgical disciplines.

The additional collagen offered massively supports the physiological thrombus formation, which enables rapid and reliable hemostasis.For this reason, KOLLAGEN resorbTM can be used in almost all surgical disciplines for local hemostasis in capillary bleeding, bleeding from parenchymatous organs, oozing bleeding and as a supportive measure in other hemostasis techniques.

Application

KOLLAGEN resorbTM is dimensionally stable and can be applied dry or moist, for example with physiological NaCl solution, into or on the open wound areas.Each sponge is individually sterile packaged and can be rolled, loosely folded and cut into smaller pieces.
