Active ingredients / Ingredients

1 g of Diclofenac Heumann Gel contains 10 mg of diclofenac sodium, corresponding to 9.3 mg of diclofenac.Other ingredients are ammonia solution, carbomer, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and purified water.

Contraindications

The medicinal product must not be used if you are hypersensitive to diclofenac, acetylsalicylic acid, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), isopropanol, or any of the other ingredients.It must not be used during the last trimester of pregnancy or by children and adolescents under the age of 14.

Dosage

Diclofenac Heumann Gel is intended for external use only.Apply a thin layer of the gel—an amount ranging from the size of a cherry to a walnut—to the affected areas of the body and rub in gently.Wash hands thoroughly afterwards, unless they are the area being treated.Allow the medicinal gel to dry on the skin for a few minutes before applying a bandage.Treatment with the medicinal product for 1 to 3 weeks is sufficient, depending on the symptoms and the severity of the condition.For adolescents aged 14 years and older, a doctor should be consulted if pain persists for more than 7 days or if symptoms worsen.

Diclofenac Heumann Gel can be applied 3 to 4 times daily for acute pain. Depending on the size of the area to be treated, an amount the size of a cherry to a walnut, corresponding to 2 to 4 g of gel or 20 to 40 mg of diclofenac sodium, is applied.The maximum daily dose of 16 g gel (160 mg diclofenac sodium) must not be exceeded.

Intake

Apply to the affected areas of the body and rub in lightly.

Patient information

Take special care when using diclofenac if you have had a previous hypersensitivity reaction to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or painkillers with asthma attacks, skin reactions or acute allergic rhinitis.The preparation should only be used with caution.If you suffer from asthma, chronic bronchoconstrictive respiratory diseases, hay fever or swelling of the nasal mucous membranes, you may react more often than other sick people to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with asthma attacks, local swelling of the skin or mucous membranes or hives.The medicine should only be applied to intact skin areas, not to skin wounds or open injuries.Eyes and mucous membranes should not come into contact with the product.Elderly patients require particularly careful medical monitoring.

The ability to drive and use machines is not affected.

Pregnancy

In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, you may only use the product after consulting your doctor.You must not use the medicine in the last trimester of pregnancy as an increased risk of complications for mother and child cannot be ruled out.Since small amounts of diclofenac pass into breast milk, prolonged use of diclofenac during breastfeeding should be avoided if possible and a daily dosage of 16 g of gel should not be exceeded.To avoid absorption by the baby, breastfeeding mothers should not use the medicine in the breast area.
