Macrogol-ratiopharm Balance powder is a laxative for the treatment of chronic constipation in adolescents, adults and elderly patients. It contains the active ingredient macrogol 3350, which softens the stool and enables easier passage. The preparation also contains salts such as potassium, sodium and chloride, which help to maintain normal levels of these elements in the body. It is well tolerated and can be used long term without any habituation effects. Dosage is usually one sachet 1 to 3 times daily, depending on individual needs. The preparation should not normally be used for longer than 2 weeks unless recommended by the doctor.
