Selergo® 1% Cream - Effective help for fungal skin diseases

Selergo® 1% cream is an antifungal agent that contains the active ingredient ciclopirox olamine.It is suitable for the treatment of fungal skin diseases, such as athlete's foot.The active ingredient ciclopirox olamine is a broad-spectrum antimycotic that is effective against various fungal pathogens such as filamentous fungi, yeasts and molds.In contrast to other active ingredients, Ciclopirox not only fights the live fungal cells, but also the spores that can cause the infection to break out again.Ciclopirox also has an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, which relieves unpleasant symptoms such as redness and itching within a few days.

Athlete's foot is a widespread skin disease that affects around 20% of the population in Germany.The infection usually begins with reddened skin and severe itching between the toes.If athlete's foot is not treated, it can spread to other parts of the body and lead to sequelae such as nail fungus.Selergo 1% cream is well tolerated by the skin and is already suitable for fungal treatment in school children aged 6 and over.

Selergo® 1% cream is used to treat fungal skin diseases.The active ingredient ciclopirox olamine works against various fungal pathogens and helps fight the infection and relieve symptoms such as itching and redness.

Mode of action

10 mg ciclopirox olamine, 7.72 mg ciclopirox, (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, cetyl alcohol, lactic acid, myristyl alcohol, N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl) coconut fatty acid amide, octadecan-1-ol, paraffin, thick, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, petroleum jelly, white, water, purified, benzyl alcohol.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to ciclopirox olamine or any of the other ingredients.The medicine is not suitable for use on the eyes.

Dosage

For athlete's foot, Selergo® 1% cream should be applied to the affected skin areas twice a day and rubbed in lightly.The cream should air dry.It is recommended to use it after washing, showering or bathing so that the cream can take effect for a sufficient period of time.The treatment should last until the skin symptoms subside, usually 2 weeks.To avoid relapses, it is recommended to continue use for another 1 to 2 weeks.

Selergo® 1% cream is intended for use on the skin.

Patient information

Particular caution when using the drug is required in newborns, infants and young children.Only give the medicine to newborns, infants and small children after consulting a doctor, as there is currently no sufficient experience for this age group.Short-term use of the drug is not expected to affect the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

Before using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.Ciclopirox olamine can pass into breast milk.It is therefore not recommended to use it during breastfeeding.Under no circumstances should the medicine be applied to the chest area.

Notes

No prescription is required for this product.Contains benzyl alcohol, butylated hydroxytoluene (Ph.Eur.) (in white petroleum jelly), polysorbate 60, cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack or outer packaging.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
