TALIDAT Chewable pastilles are a medicine used to treat heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. They contain the active ingredient hydrotalcite, which binds and neutralises excess stomach acid. The chewable tablets are used to treat stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers and acid-related stomach complaints. The dosage for adolescents 13 years and older and adults is 1-2 chewable tablets 1-6 times daily when symptoms occur, between meals and before bedtime. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 chewable tablets. The chewable tablets should be chewed well and then taken with some liquid. The duration of use should not exceed 2 weeks and a doctor should be consulted in case of prolonged or regularly recurring complaints. The medicine should not be taken if there is an allergy to the ingredients or if there is impaired kidney function. During pregnancy and lactation, a doctor should be consulted before taking the medicinal product. Possible side effects of long-term use of high doses may include gastrointestinal disorders, increased magnesium and aluminium levels and phosphate deficiency.
