TALIDAT Chewable pastilles are used to treat stomach ulcers, duodenal ulcers, heartburn and acid-related stomach complaints. They contain the active ingredient hydrotalcite and bind and neutralise excess stomach acid. The recommended dosage for adolescents 13 years and older and adults is 1-2 chewable tablets 1-6 times daily when symptoms occur. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. The chewable tablets should be chewed well and taken with some liquid. The duration of use should not exceed 2 weeks and a doctor should be consulted in case of prolonged or regularly recurring complaints. The medicine should not be taken if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients, have impaired kidney function or a phosphate deficiency. Pregnant women should consult their doctor before taking the medicine. Side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, increased magnesium and aluminium levels and phosphate deficiency.
