Information for use with the article Lactulose Stada Syrup: Lactulose Stada Syrup is a laxative and liver and intestinal therapeutic agent. It is used for constipation that cannot be sufficiently influenced by a high-fibre diet and other general measures, for diseases that require easier bowel movements and for the prevention and treatment of portocaval encephalopathy (brain damage caused by liver disease). The dose and route of administration depend on the specific use. It can be taken independently of meals. Prolonged use may cause gastrointestinal discomfort. The medicinal product must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases, fluid and salt deficiency or disorders in sugar absorption. Pregnant and breastfeeding women may use the medicine. Side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and flatulence may occur. The medicine contains lactulose, fructose, galactose and lactose. It should be protected from heat and moisture and should not be used after the expiry date.
