Senna leaf tea - laxative for short-term use for constipation
Senna leaf tea is a herbal stimulating laxative that is suitable for short-term use for constipation.It is intended for children aged 12 and over and adults.No prescription is required for this product.

Contraindications
This medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive to senna leaves, if you have intestinal obstruction and narrowing of the intestine and relaxation of the intestinal muscles, if you have acute inflammatory diseases of the intestine such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or appendicitis, if you have abdominal pain of unknown cause, if you have a severe lack of fluid in the body with water and salt losses, during pregnancy and breastfeeding and in children under 12 years of age.
Dosage
Adults and children aged 12 and over should drink 1 cup of a tea infusion prepared as follows twice a day.About ½ teaspoonful (approx. 0.75 g) of senna leaves is poured with boiling water (approx. 150 ml).After about 10 to 15 minutes, the liquid is strained through a tea strainer.The individually correct dosage is the lowest required to obtain soft-shaped stools.If necessary, 1 cup of tea infusion may be sufficient.
If possible, you should drink the tea infusion in the evening before going to bed.The effect usually occurs after 8-12 hours.The stimulating laxative senna leaves must not be used for a long period of time (more than 1 - 2 weeks) without medical advice.

If you have used more medicine than you should, please contact a doctor immediately.He will decide what countermeasures may be necessary.

Particular caution is required when using this medicine if the symptoms described under indications of application become more severe.In this case, ask your doctor or pharmacist.Long-term use of stimulant laxatives should be avoided.Taking stimulant laxatives beyond short-term use can lead to an increase in intestinal constipation and dependence on laxatives.If daily use of laxatives is necessary, the cause of the constipation should be clarified.Senna leaves should only be used if the constipation cannot be resolved through a change in diet or bulking preparations.
Please speak to a doctor before using senna leaves if you are taking the following medicines: cardiac glycosides, preparations for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, preparations that prolong QT-time, preparations for increasing urine excretion, cortisone or cortisone-like substances, licorice root preparations.
Like all laxatives, senna leaves should not be taken without consulting a doctor if fecal impaction and unresolved gastrointestinal complaints such as:B. Abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are present because these complaints can be signs of an intestinal obstruction.

Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to drink tea infusions made from senna leaves.
There is no experience with regard to impairment of the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
Tea infusions made from senna leaves must not be drunk during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to insufficient toxicological studies.
