Instructions for use for Midro laxative tea, 48 g
Area of application
Midro tea is a herbal, stimulating laxative that is suitable for short-term use for constipation. The tea has a pleasantly aromatic taste caused by herbs such as licorice root, peppermint leaves and caraway. No prescription is required for this product.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Midro tea contains the following active ingredients and excipients: senna leaves, strawberry leaves, caraway, licorice root, peppermint leaves and mallow flowers. The exact composition per measuring spoon (1.6 g of tea) includes 1-1.2 g of senna leaves, adjusted to 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivatives, calculated as sennoside B, as well as the excipients mentioned.
Contraindications
Midro tea must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, intestinal obstruction, acute inflammatory diseases of the intestine such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, appendicitis, abdominal pain of unknown cause, severe dehydration with water and salt losses, during pregnancy and breastfeeding as well as in children under 12 years of age.
Dosage
Midro tea is effective even in small quantities. The intake should start with small amounts, e.g. 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon. The dosage can be increased individually, but the maximum daily dose of one teaspoon (corresponding to 30 mg of hydroxyanthracene derivative) should not be exceeded. The correct dosage is the lowest required to achieve soft-formed stools.
Intake
Midro tea can be taken in different ways: the tea leaves can be chewed and swallowed, taken with a little liquid or stirred into yogurt.Alternatively, the tea mixture can be made with cold or lukewarm water, strained after 20 minutes and sweetened to taste. The effect occurs after approx. 8-12 hours, so it is recommended to take it before going to bed.
Patient information
Stimulant laxatives such as Midro tea should not be taken over a longer period of time (more than 1-2 weeks) or in large quantities.Taking anything longer than this short-term use can lead to increased intestinal sluggishness. The medicine should only be used if a sufficient effect cannot be achieved through a change in diet or swelling preparations.
Pregnancy
Due to insufficient toxicological studies, Midro tea should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Notes
Midro tea should not be taken for longer than a week and not in higher doses (more than 1 measuring spoon per day).It is usually sufficient to take Midro tea two to three times a week.If constipation lasts longer than 1 week, see a doctor.
