Ibutop 400 mg pain tablets are an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine that contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.It is used to treat mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever.The tablets are lactose-free and can be dosed individually because they can be divided.They are made in Germany and are available in different pack sizes.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Ibutop 400 mg painkillers is ibuprofen.Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen, and a dose of 200 mg can also be taken due to the fact that it can be divided.The other ingredients are corn starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A) (Ph.Eur.), hypromellose, talc, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) [pflanzl.], titanium dioxide (E171) and macrogol 6,000.

What are Ibutop 400 mg painkillers used for?

Ibutop 400 mg painkillers provide effective relief from mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.They are used for headaches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, muscle and joint pain as well as pain and fever associated with colds.No prescription is required for this product.

Application and dosage

The tablet is taken whole and with sufficient liquid.It is recommended to combine the preparation with a main meal, especially if you have a sensitive stomach.Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over who weigh more than 40 kg receive 400 mg (1 tablet) as a single dose.If necessary, up to 3 tablets can be taken per day.Children aged 6 to 9 years with a body weight of over 20 kg take ½ tablet (200 mg) as a single dose, a maximum of 1 ½ tablets daily.Children aged 10 to 11 with a body weight of over 30 kg receive ½ tablet as a single dose and a maximum of 2 tablets daily.There should be an interval of 6 hours between each intake.

Duration of application

If the symptoms persist or worsen, children under 12 should consult their doctor after a maximum of 3 days.Adults should consult their doctor after 4 days of treatment without improvement;with fever after 3 days.

Special instructions for use

In order to avoid stress on the gastrointestinal tract, no other painkillers from the NSAR group may be taken in addition to Ibutop 400 mg.Severe digestive tract side effects may occur more frequently in older patients (over 60), so this group of users should be closely monitored by a doctor.In general, users should contact their doctor immediately if they suspect bleeding in the stomach or intestines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In the first 2 trimesters of pregnancy, Ibutop 400 mg painkillers may only be used after consulting a doctor.It is not recommended to take it in the third trimester of pregnancy as it carries an increased risk of complications for mother and child.Although the active ingredient ibuprofen passes into breast milk in small quantities, no risks for the infant have been observed so far.A time-limited intake is therefore acceptable during breastfeeding.
