Magnesium 100 mg JENAPHARM is a mineral preparation that is used to treat proven magnesium deficiency.This deficiency can be the cause of muscle activity disorders such as neuromuscular disorders or leg cramps.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in this preparation is heavy basic magnesium carbonate.One tablet contains 395.85 mg of this active ingredient, which corresponds to 100 mg of magnesium.Half a tablet contains 197.92 mg magnesium carbonate and 50 mg magnesium.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: pre-gelatinized starch (corn), potato starch, talc and magnesium stearate.

Area of application

Magnesium 100 mg JENAPHARM is used to treat proven magnesium deficiency if this is the cause of muscle activity disorders.If you do not feel better or even feel worse after taking it, you should contact your doctor.

Dosage

The dosage of magnesium 100 mg JENAPHARM depends on the degree of magnesium deficiency.The average daily dose is 0.2 mmol (corresponding to approx. 5 mg magnesium) per kg of body weight.In the case of severe magnesium deficiency, this dose can be increased to 0.4 mmol (corresponding to approx. 10 mg magnesium) per kg of body weight.One tablet contains 4.11 mmol, which corresponds to 100 mg magnesium.

Adults and adolescents should take 1 tablet 1 to 4 times daily, which corresponds to a dose of 100 to 400 mg magnesium.Children aged 6 years and over should take half to a whole tablet once or twice a day, which corresponds to a dose of 50 to 200 mg of magnesium.

There is no time limit for the duration of application.If you have a chronic magnesium deficiency, you should take it over a period of 4 weeks.If you have taken more than you should, you should stop taking the product or reduce the dose.If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose, but continue treatment at the prescribed dose.

Intake

Please take the tablets with enough liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It should be taken before meals.

Contraindications

The preparation must not be taken if you are allergic to magnesium or any of the other ingredients.The preparation must also not be taken if there is severe kidney dysfunction or if orally administered magnesium cannot be sufficiently excreted in the urine.If there are disturbances in the conduction of impulses in the heart that lead to a slow heartbeat, taking it is also contraindicated.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.If you have kidney dysfunction, the medicine may only be taken under medical supervision and long-term use in high doses should be avoided.Consult your doctor if you suffer from mild to moderate kidney dysfunction, are dehydrated, have a predisposition to the formation of struvite kidney stones or suffer from myasthenia gravis.

Children and young people do not need any special precautions.Older people have a higher need for magnesium because the absorption of magnesium in the intestine is reduced.

The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.There is no evidence of harmful effects during pregnancy.
