Active ingredients and ingredients
The tablets contain heavy basic magnesium carbonate in an amount of 395.85 mg, which corresponds to a magnesium content of 100 mg.In addition, pre-gelatinized starch from corn, potato starch, talc and magnesium stearate (Ph.Eur.) are included as further ingredients.
Mode of action
Magnesium is an essential mineral that must be consumed daily through food.It plays an important role in stable bone formation and is also present in red blood cells.Leg cramps can be an indication of a magnesium deficiency.
Area of application
The tablets are used to treat magnesium deficiency and the associated disorders, such as muscle activity disorders.
Dosage
The dosage depends on the extent of the magnesium deficiency.The average daily dose is 0.2 mmol, which corresponds to around 5 mg of magnesium per kilogram of body weight.If there is a severe magnesium deficiency, the dose can be increased to 0.4 mmol, corresponding to around 10 mg magnesium per kilogram of body weight.
One tablet contains 4.11 mmol, which corresponds to 100 mg magnesium.Adults and adolescents can take one tablet 1 to 4 times a day, which corresponds to an amount of 100 to 400 mg of magnesium.Children aged 6 years and over can take half to a whole tablet 1 to 2 times a day, which corresponds to an amount of 50 to 200 mg of magnesium.
The tablets should be taken with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water, before meals.
Contraindications
The product should not be used if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or have severe kidney dysfunction.
Patient information
No prescription is required for this product.However, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking it, especially if you suffer from mild to moderate kidney dysfunction, are dehydrated, have a predisposition to the formation of struvite kidney stones or have myasthenia gravis.
Children and young people do not need any special precautions.Older people have an increased need for magnesium because the absorption of magnesium in the intestine is reduced.
The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.There is no evidence of harmful effects during pregnancy.
