Instructions for use for LACTULOSE AL Syrup, 200 ml
LACTULOSE AL Syrup
LACTULOSE AL Syrup is a laxative that gently stimulates the intestines. It contains the active ingredient lactulose and is particularly helpful for constipation, which cannot be sufficiently controlled by high-fiber foods and other general measures. The syrup can also help with illnesses that require easier bowel movements. It is also used for the prevention and treatment of portocaval encephalopathy, which is caused by chronic liver diseases, especially liver cirrhosis.
No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
The active ingredient lactulose develops its laxative effect through two effects: On the one hand, it binds water in the intestine, which increases the volume of the intestinal contents and keeps the stool moist and slippery. This indirectly stimulates intestinal movement. On the other hand, intestinal movements are directly stimulated by the breakdown products of lactulose, especially lactic and acetic acid. The laxative effect can occur after just 2 to 10 hours, but if the dosage is insufficient, it can take 24 to 48 hours before the first bowel movement. The dosage should be adjusted individually.
Area of application
Intestinal constipation, also known as constipation, is a common problem. It manifests itself as fewer than three bowel movements per week, lumpy or hard stools, straining to defecate, or the feeling of incomplete evacuation.Constipation can be caused by travel, illness, pregnancy, or as a side effect of medication.Chronic constipation is often due to a lack of fiber, fluids, and exercise. In the long term, changing your lifestyle can help.
LACTULOSE AL Syrup gently regulates the intestines and is a gentle aid for constipation. It also supports illnesses that require easier bowel movements.Adequate fluid intake of around two liters of water, tea or fruit spritzer daily helps to keep the stool soft and get the intestines moving.Even a glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach can stimulate the natural reflex and promote digestion.
Yoga, Tai Chi or Qigong are mental and physical training at the same time and can help with gastrointestinal problems such as constipation.Regular relaxation breaks promote digestion.Suitable relaxation methods include progressive muscle relaxation and autogenic training.Fiber, wheat bran, linseed or psyllium are important helpers for the intestines as they swell through water absorption and make the stool softer.Fresh or dried fruits such as plums and figs also stimulate the intestines.
