Instructions for use of the article Symbioflor 2: Symbioflor 2 is a bacterial preparation used to regulate the body's own defences and for disorders of gastrointestinal function, especially irritable bowel syndrome (colon irritabile). It contains Escherichia coli bacteria and improves the immune system in the intestinal tract. The recommended dosage for adults is 10 drops 3 times a day at the beginning of treatment, which can be increased to 20 drops 3 times a day after one week. For children and infants, the dosage is 10 and 5 drops respectively 1 time daily. The drops should be dissolved in a little water and taken during meals. Side effects such as flatulence, upper abdominal discomfort, nausea and diarrhoea may occasionally occur. If side effects occur or the condition worsens, a doctor should be consulted. There are some contraindications to consider, such as an allergy to the bacterial concentrate, acute inflammation of the gallbladder, pancreas or intestinal obstruction. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking the product. Symbioflor 2 comes in a 50 ml amber glass bottle with a plastic cap and dropper.
