Directions for use of the article Spalt Schmerztabletten: Spalt Schmerztabletten are a medicine used by adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over to treat acute mild to moderate pain. The active ingredients in the tablets are acetylsalicylic acid and paracetamol, both of which have analgesic and antipyretic effects. The usual dose for adults and adolescents is 1 tablet (300 mg acetylsalicylic acid, 300 mg paracetamol) up to 3 times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 4 tablets. The tablets should either be dissolved in liquid or taken unchewed with plenty of liquid. The duration of use should not exceed 3 days unless extended on medical advice. Special precautions apply to patients with hepatic or renal impairment and to elderly patients. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should ask their doctor or pharmacist for advice before use. Side effects may include gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, dizziness and visual disturbances. The medicine should be stored away from heat. For more information, see the package leaflet.
