What is athlete's foot?

Athlete's foot, also known as tinea pedis, is a fungal infection of the feet caused by filamentous fungi such as dermatophytes and yeast.This infection often occurs between the toes, the soles of the feet, and the edges of the feet.Athlete's foot is a common skin disease that affects approximately 30 percent of the population and 70 percent have been affected at least once in their life.

Symptoms of athlete's foot

Mode of action

The active ingredient terbinafine in Terbiderm Cream 10mg/g inhibits an enzyme in skin fungi, which leads to the death of the fungi.This helps to quickly improve symptoms and prevent the infection from spreading further.Terbinafine is particularly suitable for the treatment of fungal diseases.

1 Gram of Terbiderm Cream 10mg/g contains 10 mg of terbinafine hydrochloride as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are purified water, cetostearyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate, cetyl palmitate, sorbitan stearate, benzyl alcohol, polysorbate 60 and sodium hydroxide.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage

Before applying the cream, the skin must be thoroughly cleansed and dried.Apply the cream in a thin layer to the inflamed skin and slightly beyond and rub lightly.Wash your hands afterward, unless your hands are the area to be treated.

Adults and teenagers over 12 years of age should use the cream as follows:

Athlete's foot (tinea pedis): once daily for 1 week.

Ringworm (tinea corporis, tinea cruris): once daily for 1 week.

Skin fungus (cutaneous candidiasis): once daily for 1 to 2 weeks.

Bran ringworm (Pityriasis versicolor): 1 - 2 times daily for 2 weeks.

It is important to carry out treatment regularly to avoid a recurrence of symptoms.If you do not notice any improvement after two weeks, please inform your doctor.

Intake

It is important that you use the product correctly.Follow the instructions exactly.Before use, you should clean the affected skin and your hands thoroughly and dry them well.Put a small amount of cream on your finger and close the tube again.Apply the cream in a thin layer to the affected skin area and the surrounding skin areas and rub in lightly.Wash your hands after use to prevent further spread of infection.

If you are treating fungal infections in skin folds on the body, you can cover these skin areas with a strip of gauze, especially overnight.To do this, use a new, clean strip of gauze each time.Consult your doctor before using the cream on large areas of skin.

To support the treatment, ensure good hygiene.Clean the affected area of skin regularly and dry yourself carefully without rubbing.Regularly change towels, clothing and stockings that come into contact with the affected area of skin and wash them at at least 60°C.Prefer natural materials such as cotton to prevent transmission to other parts of the body and people.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it as the medicine can only be used externally.Do not bring the cream into contact with the eyes.The ability to drive and use machines is not affected.Store drug out of reach of children!

Pregnancy

The medicine should not be used during pregnancy or if you are planning to become pregnant.Please inform your doctor if you become pregnant while taking the product.
