Information for use with the article BIFON CREME: - Bifon cream contains the active ingredient bifonazole and is used to treat skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur or Corynebacterium minutissimum. The areas of application include fungal infections of the skin, athlete's foot, dwarf lichen and pityriasis versicolor. - There are certain warnings and precautions that should be observed, e.g. Bifon cream should not be used if you are allergic to bifonazole or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. In addition, it should only be used in babies under medical supervision. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about other medicines you are taking. - During pregnancy and breast-feeding, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Bifon cream. The effects on the ability to drive and operate machinery are not known. - Bifon cream is applied thinly to the affected skin areas and massaged in gently. The duration of treatment varies depending on the type and extent of the condition. - Possible side effects are slight redness, burning, irritation and flaking of the skin. - Bifon cream contains the active ingredient bifonazole, as well as other ingredients such as chlorhexidine digluconate, octyldodecanol, cetylstearyl alcohol and purified water. BIFON - Note that cetylstearyl alcohol may cause local skin irritation. - Store the medicine out of reach of children and observe the expiry date. - Bifon cream is manufactured by Dermapharm AG and is available in 15 g and 35 g tubes. - There is no indication of a specific maximum quantity when ordering this product. However, the manufacturer reserves the right to set separate maximum quantities for certain medicines, particularly those used for short periods or those at risk of overdose.
