Ginkgo-Maren 120 mg film-coated tablets contain dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves and are used for the symptomatic treatment of brain-organic performance disorders. The most common complaints associated with this syndrome are memory disorders, concentration disorders, depressive mood, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches. Before treatment is started, however, it should be checked whether the symptoms are not due to another underlying disease. Dizziness and ringing in the ears should always be checked by a doctor and if sudden hearing loss occurs, a doctor should be consulted immediately. The recommended dosage for adults is 1/2 - 1 film-coated tablet twice daily (equivalent to 120 - 240 mg ginkgo extract per day). The film-coated tablets should be taken standing upright or sitting down with sufficient liquid and can be taken independently of meals. The duration of treatment should be at least 8 weeks, and after 3 months the doctor should check whether the treatment should still be continued. In the event of an overdose, gastrointestinal complaints, headaches and allergic skin reactions may occur.
