Ginkgo-Maren® 120 mg is a herbal medicine that contains an extract of ginkgo leaves.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept in the event of a decline or loss of acquired mental abilities (dementia syndrome).The main complaints that can be treated with it are memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depressive moods, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 120 mg dry extract of Ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67:1), obtained with acetone 60% (m/m).The extract contains specific active ingredients such as ginkgo flavonoid glycosides, terpene lactones, ginkgolides A+B+C, bilobalides and ginkgolic acids.The following excipients are also included: microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous citric acid, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, Eudragit E 100, spray-dried glucose syrup, lactose, magnesium stearate, sodium dodecyl sulfate, hydrogenated castor oil, saccharin sodium 2-water, highly disperse, amorphous, hydrophobic silicon dioxide, stearic acid,talc and vanillin.

Ginkgo-Maren® 120 mg is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept in the event of a decline or loss of acquired mental abilities (dementia syndrome).The main complaints that can be treated with it are memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depressive moods, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.The individual response to medication cannot be predicted.Before treatment is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.Frequently occurring feelings of dizziness and ringing in the ears generally require clarification by a doctor.If hearing loss or hearing loss suddenly occurs, you should see a doctor immediately.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for adults aged 18 and over is ½ - 1 tablet twice daily (corresponding to 120 - 240 mg ginkgo extract per day).It is taken in the morning and evening.The medicine is not intended for use in people under 18 years of age.

In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain disorders, the treatment duration should be at least 8 weeks.After a treatment period of 3 months, the doctor must check whether continued treatment is still justified.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you take more than you should, side effects may increase.Please notify your doctor.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose next time, but continue taking it as prescribed.If treatment is interrupted or stopped prematurely, your symptoms may worsen or recur.

Intake

The tablets should not be taken while lying down.Take the tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.It can be taken regardless of meals.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba or any of the other ingredients or if you are pregnant.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children and adolescents.It should therefore not be used on people under 18 years of age.

If you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleeding or are being treated at the same time with anticoagulant medicines, this medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.Since preparations containing ginkgo can increase the risk of bleeding, it must be discontinued before surgery.Tell your doctor in good time if you have taken the medicine.If you have a known seizure disorder (epilepsy), consult your doctor before taking it.

There are no known effects on participation in road traffic or when operating machines or working without a secure footing.

Pregnancy

Since preparations containing ginkgo could increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy. It should not be used during breastfeeding as there are no sufficient studies and it is not known whether the ingredients pass into breast milk.

Notes

Contains lactose and glucose.Please do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the pack.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.
