IbuDex®: The classic against pain

They wanted to develop a new active ingredient against inflammatory rheumatic diseases - and found one of the most frequently purchased drugs for over-the-counter pain treatment.IbuDex® is effective for around four to six hours against mild to moderate pain and fever.The dosage should be individually adjusted to age and body weight.It is advisable to take as small amounts as possible and only over a short period of time.

Area of application

The preparation is an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine that contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.It is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains as well as fever.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Each tablet contains 200 mg of ibuprofen as the active ingredient.The other ingredients include acid blue 9, carmellose sodium, carnauba wax, microcrystalline cellulose, quinoline yellow, croscarmellose sodium, erythrosine, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, corn starch, colloidal silica, stearic acid, talc and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients.It is also not suitable for people with certain previous illnesses or in special life situations, such as in the last trimester of pregnancy or for children under 20 kg.Other contraindications include unexplained blood formation disorders, certain gastrointestinal diseases, cerebral hemorrhages, severe liver or kidney dysfunction and severe heart failure.

Dosage

Always take the preparation exactly as directed or after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose depends on body weight and age.For children between 6 and 9 years, the maximum daily dose is 3 tablets, for children between 10 and 12 years 4 tablets and for people aged 12 and over and adults 6 tablets.Wait at least 6 hours between doses.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.If use is prolonged or symptoms worsen, you should seek medical advice.

Intake

Take the coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid during or after a meal.Patients with a sensitive stomach should take the tablets with meals.To minimize side effects, the lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest possible period of time.

Patient information

It is important to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible period of time to minimize side effects.Particular caution should be exercised in elderly patients, patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, and those taking certain other medications at the same time.If there are signs of gastrointestinal bleeding or ulcers, treatment should be discontinued.

Ibuprofen may slightly increase the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at high doses.Patients with heart disease or risk factors should discuss this with their doctor.

Severe skin reactions are very rare but possible.At the first sign of a skin reaction, the medicine should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.

If used for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.Taking it before surgical procedures should be discussed with your doctor or dentist.

Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.Alcohol can increase the effects of ibuprofen.

Children and adolescents should be dehydrated to avoid the risk of kidney dysfunction.

The use can impair the ability to react, especially in combination with alcohol.In this case you should not drive a car or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

The product must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.In the first two thirds of pregnancy, use should be discussed with your doctor.

During breastfeeding, small amounts of ibuprofen pass into breast milk.Short-term use usually does not require interruption of breastfeeding. For prolonged use or higher doses, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.
