Hepar-SL® 320 mg is a herbal medicine that contains the active ingredient artichoke leaf dry extract.It is used for digestive disorders, especially for functional disorders of the biliary system.The product is available without a prescription.

1 Capsule Hepar-SL® 320 mg hard capsules contains 320 mg artichoke leaf dry extract (4-6:1), using water as the extractant.Other ingredients include hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, titanium dioxide, quinoline yellow and brilliant blue FCF.

Contraindications

Hepar-SL® 320 mg hard capsules should not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to one of the ingredients, in children under 12 years of age, pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding, as there are no sufficient studies.If you have gallstones, the product should only be taken after consulting a doctor.

Concomitant use with coumarin-type anticoagulants (phenprocoumon, warfarin) may reduce the effectiveness of these agents, so dosage adjustment may be necessary.

Dosage

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults can take 2 hard capsules whole twice a day with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water, with main meals.To date, no cases have been reported of artichoke leaf poisoning.If larger quantities are taken, a doctor should be notified.

If you forget to take a dose, you should not take twice the amount next time, but continue taking it as prescribed or as described in the instructions for use.

Intake

The medicine should be taken whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water, with meals.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.If taken at the same time as anticoagulants of the coumarin type, the doctor should be consulted to adjust the dosage.If symptoms last longer than a week or recur regularly, a doctor should be consulted.

There are no sufficient studies on use in children under 12 years of age, so the medicine should not be used at this age.
