Pelargonium-ratiopharm Bronchial Drops are a herbal medicinal product for the treatment of acute bronchitis. They contain the active substance Pelargonium sidoides root extract, which has an anti-inflammatory effect. The drops are taken 3 times a day with liquid. The dosage varies according to age: for children 1-5 years, 10 drops; for children 6-12 years, 20 drops; and for adolescents 12 years and older and adults, 30 drops per dose. The duration of treatment should not exceed 3 weeks. The medicine must not be taken in case of increased bleeding tendency, severe liver or kidney diseases and hypersensitivity to the ingredients. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, a doctor should be consulted before taking the medicine. Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints and an increase in liver values. The drops should be kept out of the reach of children and must not be used after the expiry date. The exact composition of the drops is given in the package leaflet. It is a natural product, therefore slight variations in colour and taste may occur.
