General information about Lorano®Pro 0.5 mg/ml oral solution

Lorano®Pro is an oral solution that contains the active ingredient desloratadine.This medication is used to relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis and urticaria in adults, adolescents, and children 2 years of age and older.It is available without a prescription.

In addition to desloratadine, the solution also contains sorbitol, propylene glycol and sodium.It is important to read the package leaflet and, if in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacy.

Areas of application

Lorano®Pro is used for allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, house dust and animal hair allergies, as well as hives.Hay fever is caused by pollen and leads to inflammation of the nasal mucosa.Typical symptoms include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate and itchy, red or watery eyes.Urticaria manifests itself as the formation of wheals that are surrounded by redness and are often itchy.

Lorano®Pro works quickly and provides long-lasting symptom relief.It belongs to the new generation antihistamines used in the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and urticaria.The active ingredient desloratadine blocks histamine receptors and thereby reduces the effect of histamine, which is responsible for the allergic reaction.

Active ingredient and ingredients

The active ingredient in Lorano®Pro is desloratadine, a further development of loratadine.Desloratadine does not make you drowsy and is effective for over 24 hours due to its long half-life.The solution contains the following ingredients:

Active ingredient: 2.5 mg desloratadine based on 5 ml juice.Other ingredients include sorbitol 70 (487.5 mg), propylene glycol (511.5 mg), citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate-2 water (19.25 mg total sodium ion), hypromellose, sucralose, disodium edetate 2 water, tutti frutti flavor and purified water.

Contraindications

Lorano®Pro must not be taken if you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.It should not be used in infants and young children under 2 years of age.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for children between 2 and 5 years is 2.5 ml of solution once daily.Children between 6 and 11 years take 5 ml of solution once daily.Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults take 10 ml of solution once daily.The dose should be swallowed and then drunk with some water.It can be taken with or without food.

Intake

Lorano®Pro is intended for oral use.Swallow the dose of the solution and then drink some water.It can be taken with or without food.A dosing aid is included to set and administer the correct dose.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Lorano®Pro if you have impaired kidney function or if you have a medical history or family history of seizures.Do not give the medicine to children under 2 years of age.

If you take the recommended dosage, Lorano®Pro is not expected to affect your ability to drive or use machines.However, it is recommended that you avoid activities that require mental alertness until your personal response to the medicine has been established.

Pregnancy

Taking Lorano®Pro is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Notes

Be careful if you have an intolerance to fructose.If you have to follow a diabetes diet, you should consider the sugar content.Please do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack.
