Directions for use of the article Proff pain cream Proff pain cream is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine for rubbing into the skin. It is used for external or adjuvant treatment of various complaints, including muscle pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatic complaints, swelling and inflammation of the soft tissues near the joints, and sports and accident injuries such as bruises, sprains and strains. The medicine contains the active substance ibuprofen in a concentration of 5%. Before use, it is important to read the package leaflet thoroughly and to follow the instructions of the doctor, pharmacist or healthcare professional carefully. Proff pain cream is applied to the affected skin area 3-4 times a day and massaged in gently. The recommended dose is one 4-10cm strand of cream per application. The maximum total daily dose is 20g of cream, corresponding to 1,000mg of ibuprofen. The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and the course of the disease, usually 2-3 weeks. There are certain people for whom proff pain cream must not be used, such as people with allergies to ibuprofen or other components of the medicine, people with open injuries, inflammations or infections of the skin, and pregnant women in the last third of pregnancy. Medical advice should also be sought before use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age, as well as in people with certain pre-existing conditions or allergies.
