Directions for use of the article Yomogi 250 mg Hard Capsules. Yomogi 250 mg is used for the treatment of acute diarrhoea, including travellers' diarrhoea and tube fed diarrhoea, and for the prevention of travellers' diarrhoea. The medicinal product contains the active substance Saccharomyces cerevisiae HANSEN CBS 5926-dry yeast. It is important to read the package leaflet carefully and take the medicine accordingly. There are a few things to remember before taking Yomogi 250 mg. It must not be taken if you are allergic to yeast or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. In addition, there are certain groups of people, such as immunosuppressed patients or those with central venous catheters, who should not take the medicine. If diarrhoea persists for more than 2 days or is accompanied by blood or raised temperature, a doctor should be consulted. The dosage of Yomogi 250 mg varies according to age and indication. Children between 6 months and 2 years should take 1 hard capsule 1-2 times a day. Children over 2 years of age, adolescents and adults should also take 1 hard capsule 1-2 times a day. For the prevention of travellers' diarrhoea, adolescents from 12 years and adults are recommended to take 1 hard capsule 1-2 times daily 5 days before departure. The capsules should be taken unchewed with sufficient liquid before meals. If necessary, the capsules can be opened and the contents taken mixed with liquid or food. Side effects may occur, such as flatulence. In rare cases, allergic reactions, skin rash or swelling may occur. If such reactions occur, the medicine should be stopped and a doctor informed. Yomogi 250 mg should be stored at room temperature (not above 25 °C) and kept away from children.
