Area of application

Cetirizine Aristo® Allergy Juice is used to relieve nasal and eye symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, as well as to relieve hives (urticaria).The allergy juice is suitable for children aged 2 and over and adults.

Cetirizin Aristo® allergy juice stands for reliability and quality from German production.Aristo Pharma offers Cetirizine Aristo® film-coated tablets and Cetirizine Aristo® allergy juice.

Mode of action

Cetirizine suppresses the effects of the messenger substances histamine and prostaglandins in two different ways.First, it inhibits the release of these messenger substances from the mast cells.Secondly, it displaces the messenger substances from their binding sites, the receptors.This breaks the chain of allergic reactions.Histamine and prostaglandins play an important role in inflammation and allergic reactions.

Cetirizine Aristo® allergy juice contains the active ingredient cetirizine dihydrochloride.Cetirizine dihydrochloride prevents histamine from binding to the receptors and taking effect.These active ingredients are called antihistamines and are suitable for treating acute allergic symptoms.

Cetirizine Aristo® Allergy Juice contains the following ingredients:

1 mg cetirizine dihydrochloride

0.84 mg cetirizine

Acetic acid 99% (excipient)

Glycerol (excipient)

Sodium acetate 3-water (excipient)

Propylene glycol (excipient)

Saccharin, sodium salt (excipient)

450 mg sorbitol solution 70%, non-crystallizing (excipient)

Water, purified (excipient)

1.35 mg methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (excipient)

Cherry flavor (excipient)

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients mentioned, Cetirizine Aristo® Allergy Juice should not be used.

Dosage

Cetirizine Aristo® Allergy Juice should always be taken exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Dosage:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 10 mg once daily as a 10 ml solution.

Children between 6 and 12 years: 5 mg twice daily as a 5 ml solution.

Children between 2 and 6 years: 2.5 mg twice daily as a 2.5 ml solution.

Patients with kidney failure are recommended to take 5 mg (5 ml solution) once daily.The dose should be adjusted accordingly.

The duration of use should not be more than 30 days.After this time, you should contact your doctor.

Intake

The juice should preferably be taken in the evening.It can be taken with or without food.

Please talk to your doctor before taking cetirizine if you have impaired kidney function, difficulty urinating, epilepsy or are at risk of seizures.

No interactions with significant effects have been observed between alcohol and cetirizine at normal doses.However, it is recommended to avoid taking alcohol at the same time.

Allergic skin tests are blocked by antihistamines such as cetirizine.A tablet-free period of 3 days is required before this can be carried out.

The use of film-coated tablets is not recommended in children under 6 years of age as this formulation does not allow for appropriate dose adjustment.

In clinical studies, cetirizine at the recommended dose did not produce any signs of impaired attention, alertness or driving ability.If you plan to drive, work without a secure footing or operate machines, you should not use more than the recommended dose and carefully monitor your reaction to the medicine.

Pregnancy

Before taking any medicines, ask your doctor for advice.

Pregnancy: As with other medicines, cetirizine should be avoided in pregnant women. Accidental ingestion of the drug by pregnant women should not cause adverse health effects to the fetus.Nevertheless, taking the drug should be stopped.

Breast-feeding: Because cetirizine passes into breast milk, you should ask your doctor whether you can take cetirizine while breast-feeding.
