Area of application

The medicine contains an extract of ginkgo leaves.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of organic brain-related performance disorders as part of an overall therapeutic concept in the event of a decline or loss of acquired mental abilities, known as dementia syndrome.The main complaints are memory problems, difficulty concentrating, depressive moods, dizziness, ringing in the ears and headaches.

Individual response to medication cannot be predicted.Before treatment is started, it should be clarified whether the symptoms are not due to an underlying disease that requires specific treatment.Frequently occurring feelings of dizziness and ringing in the ears should always be clarified by a doctor.If hearing loss or hearing loss suddenly occurs, you should see a doctor immediately.

120 mg ginkgo leaf dry extract, (35-67:1), extractant: acetone 60% (m/m).The extract contains ginkgo flavonoid glycosides, terpene lactones, ginkgolides A+B+C, bilobalides and ginkgolic acids.Other excipients are cellulose, microcrystalline, citric acid, anhydrous, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x-water, Eudragit E 100, glucose syrup, spray-dried, lactose 1-water, lactose, magnesium stearate, castor oil, hydrogenated, saccharin, sodium salt, silicon dioxide, highly disperse, amorphous, hydrophobic, talc and vanillin.

Contraindications

The product must not be taken if you are allergic to Ginkgo biloba extracts or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as directed.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose for adults and adolescents aged 12 and over is ½ - 1 film-coated tablet twice a day, corresponding to 120 - 240 mg of ginkgo extract per day.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of this medicine is too strong or too weak.

In the case of performance disorders caused by organic brain disorders, the treatment duration should be at least 8 weeks.After a treatment period of 3 months, the doctor must check whether continued treatment is still justified.

If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose next time, but continue taking it as prescribed by your doctor or as described.

Intake

The film-coated tablets are intended to be taken orally.Please take the film-coated tablets whole with sufficient liquid, preferably a glass of drinking water.The film-coated tablets should not be taken while lying down.It is used morning and evening, regardless of meals.

Patient information

If you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleeding or are being treated at the same time with anticoagulant medicines, this medicine should only be used after consulting a doctor.Since there is evidence that preparations containing ginkgo can increase the risk of bleeding, this medicine must be discontinued before surgery.Please inform your doctor in good time, who will decide how to proceed.

There are no sufficient studies on the use of this medicine in children under 12 years of age.It should therefore not be used in children under 12 years of age.

No special precautions are required when driving or using machines.

Pregnancy

Experimental studies showed no evidence of a teratogenic effect of the ginkgo extract contained in this medicine.However, since there is no experience in humans and its use during pregnancy is not justified, the benefits of treatment during pregnancy must be carefully weighed against the possible risks.It is not known whether the ingredients of ginkgo extract pass into breast milk.
