Active ingredient mometasone furoate

Mometasone furoate belongs to the drug class of glucocorticoids and has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties.It is assumed that its strong effect is based on the inhibited release of allergic messenger substances (e.g. leukotrienes) from white blood cells.Because it is used locally, the nasal spray does not put any additional strain on the body, neither makes you tired nor dependent and is therefore particularly well tolerated.

Vividrin® Mometasone hay fever nasal spray is used to treat severe hay fever.It helps with hypersensitivity to grass and flower pollen, which often causes severe sneezing and a tingling, runny or stuffy nose.The nasal spray can work within 12 hours if the symptoms are severe.

Mode of action

The active ingredient mometasone furoate contained in Vividrin® Mometasone hay fever nasal spray has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties and only works locally.Therefore, the nasal spray does not put any additional strain on the body and does not make you tired or dependent.

Ingredients of Vividrin® Mometasone hay fever nasal spray: 0.052 mg mometasone furoate-1 water, 0.041 mg mometasone, 0.05 mg mometasone furoate, carmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, citric acid 1-water, glycerol, sodium citrate, polysorbate 80, water for injections, 0.02 mg benzalkonium chloride.

Contraindications

The nasal spray must not be used if you are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Even if you have an untreated infection in your nose or have had nose surgery, the nasal spray should not be used until the nose has healed.

Dosage

Recommended use of Vividrin® Mometasone hay fever nasal spray: At the beginning, 2 sprays per nostril once a day.If symptoms improve, the dose can be reduced to 1 spray per nostril once daily.

Intake

Preparing your nasal spray for use: Shake the bottle gently and remove the protective cap from the nose piece.If you are using the spray for the first time, you will need to prepare the bottle by activating the spray 10 times until a fine spray is created.If you have not used the nasal spray for 14 days or longer, you will need to prepare it again by pressing the spray twice until a fine mist is created.

How to use the nasal spray: Shake the bottle gently and remove the protective cap from the nosepiece.Clean your nose.Close one nostril and insert the nosepiece into the other nostril.Tilt your head slightly forward and hold the bottle upright.Begin to inhale gently through your nose and spray a puff of fine mist into your nose by pressing down once with your fingers.Breathe out through your mouth.Repeat this step to give a second spray into the same nostril if necessary.Repeat the steps for the other nostril.

Cleaning your nasal spray: It is important to clean your nasal spray regularly.To do this, remove the protective cap and carefully pull off the nose piece.Clean the nosepiece and protective cap in warm water and then rinse both under running water.Allow the nosepiece and protective cap to dry in a warm place.Put the nose piece back on the bottle and put the protective cap on.The nasal spray must be prepared with 2 sprays before the first use after cleaning.

Pregnancy

There is almost no information on the use of the drug in pregnant women.It is not known whether mometasone furoate passes into breast milk.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
