Laxbene junior 4 g Neutral is an osmotic laxative for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in children between 6 months and 8 years. It increases the amount of water in the stool and facilitates bowel movements. The recommended dosage is 1-4 sachets per day, depending on the age of the child. Treatment should be given in conjunction with appropriate lifestyle and dietary changes. The effect occurs within 24-48 hours. Children should not be treated with Laxbene junior for longer than 3 months. Side effects may include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. The medicinal product contains the active substance macrogol 4000 and must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the active substance or if certain intestinal diseases, intestinal obstruction or gastric or intestinal perforation exist. The dosage should be adjusted individually and the medicine must not be used for longer than recommended by the doctor. Children aged 9 years and over should not usually use the medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding women can use the medicine according to current knowledge. The medicine should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be used after the expiry date.
