Directions for use of the article Folic Acid Aristo 5 mg Tablets Folic Acid Aristo 5 mg Tablets are used to treat folic acid deficiency syndromes. They contain folic acid, an important substance for blood formation. The medicine can be used to treat folic acid deficiency in children, adolescents and adults. It can also be used to prevent folic acid deficiency in patients taking medicines that lower folic acid levels and to prevent neural tube defects in pregnant women who are at risk. Before taking Folic Acid Aristo, you should rule out allergic reactions to folic acid or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. It is important to talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have a vitamin B12 deficiency, anaemia of unknown cause or cancer. Pregnant women should talk to a doctor about taking it, as a lower dose of folic acid may be needed. The recommended dose for adults is 1 tablet once a day, regardless of meals. The medicine should not be used in children under 6 years of age. The duration of treatment depends on the cause of the folic acid deficiency and the success of the treatment. It is recommended to take the medicine with sufficient liquid. Side effects of folic acid Aristo are rare and may include a mild allergic reaction, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, itching and swelling of the face.
