Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Laxans-ratiopharm is bisacodyl.The tablets also contain the following excipients: lactose, cellulose powder, corn starch, macrogol 8000, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, copovidone, magnesium stearate, triethyl citrate and methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1).

Mode of action

Bisacodyl prevents water and salts from being removed from the intestinal contents.At the same time, it promotes the release of water into the intestines, which makes the stool softer.This stimulates intestinal activity and makes defecation easier.

Dosage and application

Adults and children aged 11 and over can take one to two tablets once daily.Children aged 2 to 10 should only take one tablet daily as directed by a doctor.The tablets should be taken whole in the evening with sufficient liquid.Bowel evacuation usually occurs after 6 to 12 hours.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases, intestinal obstruction, narrowing of the intestine or severe abdominal pain with nausea and vomiting.Children under 2 years of age must not take the medicine.
