Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg tablets are suitable for the combined preventive treatment of caries and rickets in infants and children up to 18 months of age. This applies if the fluoride concentration in the drinking or mineral water is below 0.3 mg/l and no additional fluoride is taken.

Important information (mandatory information)

Dekristol® Fluor 500 I.U./0.25 mg tablets. Indications: Combined, preventive treatment of caries and rickets in infants and children up to 18 months of age when the fluoride concentration in drinking/mineral water is below 0.3 mg/l and no other fluoride is taken (e.g. use of fluoride toothpaste, fluoride salt, fluoride tablets).

Warning: Contains sucrose.

What is Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg and what is it used for?

Preventive medicine against caries and rickets. Combined preventive treatment of caries and rickets in infants and children up to 18 months of age when the fluoride concentration in drinking/mineral water is below 0.3 mg/l and no other fluoride is taken (e.g. Use of fluoride toothpaste, fluoride salt, fluoride tablets).

What should you be aware of before taking Dekristol Fluor 500 I.U./0.25 mg?

Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg must not be taken if:

• Your child is allergic to colecalciferol, sodium fluoride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6
• mobility is restricted (e.g. because of a plaster cast)
• Your child has hypercalcaemia (increased calcium concentrations in the blood)
• your child has been diagnosed with nephrocalcinosis (calcification of the kidney tissue) or kidney stones

Note: Dekristol Fluor 500 I.U./0.25 mg is not intended for premature or deficient infants (body weight less than 3000 g) and children over 18 months of age.

How should Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg be taken?

The recommended dose is: one tablet daily for infants and young children up to 18 months. It is recommended to dissolve the tablet in water and let it soak in the mouth. The treatment should be stopped as soon as other fluoride measures are applied. An overdose should be avoided.

Taking Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg with other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if your child is taking other medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

Dekristol Fluor 500 I. E./0.25 mg is not intended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking/using any medicines.

Note: Please give your child Dekristol Fluor 500 I.E./0.25 mg only after consulting your doctor if you know that your child suffers from an intolerance to certain sugars or sodium.
