Information on Vitaprompt 1000 microgram film-coated tablets

Vitaprompt 1000 microgram film-coated tablets contain cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) and are used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency due to malnutrition, long-term treatment of vitamin B12 deficiency and to treat a certain type of anaemia. The film-coated tablets should be taken according to the package leaflet and taken on an empty stomach with a glass of water, for example.

What you should know before taking Vitaprompt

Vitaprompt must not be taken if you are allergic to cyanocobalamin or any of the other ingredients, or if you have certain health problems, such as a specific form of anaemia or certain inherited eye diseases. The medicine is also not suitable for children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to take Vitaprompt

The usual dose for adults is 1 film-coated tablet per day before the first meal. For certain types of anaemia, treatment by infusion/injection should be given first. Take the film-coated tablet with a glass of water. The exact duration of treatment should be agreed with your doctor. Vitaprompt is not suitable for children and adolescents. You should inform your doctor if you have impaired kidney or liver function.

Side effects of Vitaprompt

Possible side effects include occasional severe hypersensitivity reactions that may manifest as wheals, rash or itching. Other side effects are not known. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any side effects.

How to store Vitaprompt

Vitaprompt should be kept out of the reach of children and away from light. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging. Do not dispose of unused tablets in the waste water, but ask your pharmacy for the correct disposal.
