IbuHEXAL acute is an anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving medicine that contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.It is used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, toothaches, period pains and fever.The product is available without a prescription.

Areas of application

IbuHEXAL acute is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and to reduce fever.It is also suitable for joint pain, osteoarthritis and arthritis to relieve pain and inflammation.In the case of flu-like infections, it can also help to reduce fatigue and pain.

Mode of action

The active ingredient ibuprofen inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, inflammation and fever.This means that ibuprofen has an anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving and fever-reducing effect.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet contains 400 mg ibuprofen as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate (vegetable), highly dispersed silicon dioxide, talc and titanium dioxide (E 171).

Dosage and application

Always take IbuHEXAL acute exactly as directed.The recommended dose depends on body weight and age:

Children aged 6-9 years (20-29 kg): 1/2 film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 1 1/2 film-coated tablets (600 mg ibuprofen).

Children 10-11 years (30-39 kg): 1/2 film-coated tablet (200 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 2 film-coated tablets (800 mg ibuprofen).

Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (≥ 40 kg): 1/2-1 film-coated tablet (200-400 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose 3 film-coated tablets (1200 mg ibuprofen).

Wait at least 6 hours between doses.The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.If you have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take it with meals.

Contraindications

IbuHEXAL acute must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients, if you have a history of stomach/duodenal ulcers or bleeding, if you have active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure, in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children under 20 kg (6 years).

Side effects

Possible side effects include gastrointestinal complaints such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, bleeding in the gastrointestinal area, headache, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, irritability, skin hypersensitivity reactions, shortness of breath and visual disturbances.

Storage

Keep IbuHEXAL acute out of the reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the packaging.Do not dispose of medicines via wastewater, but take them to the pharmacy for disposal.

Notes

Do not take IbuHEXAL acute for longer than 4 days without medical advice.With prolonged use or higher doses, the ability to react may be impaired.If you have pain or fever, do not use for longer than stated in the package leaflet without medical advice.If you have vision problems or signs of infection, see a doctor immediately.
