Mode of action
IbuHexal acute 400 mg film-coated tablets contains the active ingredient ibuprofen.This is able to prevent the body's production of prostaglandins and thus alleviates pain and inflammatory reactions.Ibuprofen has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant and pain-relieving effect.Ibuprofen can also have an antipyretic effect via the temperature control center located in the brain.

Contraindications
IbuHexal acute 400 mg film-coated tablets must not be taken/used if you are known to be hypersensitive to the active ingredient ibuprofen or one of the other ingredients of the drug, if you have asthma attacks, Crohn's disease, swelling of the nasal mucosa or skin reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, if you have existing stomach/duodenal ulcers or those that have occurred repeatedly in the pastBleeding, with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation in connection with previous therapy with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs/anti-inflammatory drugs, with cerebral hemorrhages or other active bleeding, with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, with severe heart failure, in the last trimester of pregnancy and in children under 20 kg (6 years of age), as this dose strength is generally not suitable due to the active ingredient content.

Recommended use of IbuHexal acute 400 mg film-coated tablets: Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the following dosage guidelines apply.Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.Do not take this medicine for more than 4 days without medical or dental advice.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: 20 kg - 29 kg, 6 - 9 years: 1/2 film-coated tablet (corresponding to 200 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose in number of tablets: up to 1 1/2 film-coated tablets (corresponding to 600 mg ibuprofen).30 kg - 39 kg, 10 - 12 years: 1/2 film-coated tablet (corresponding to 200 mg ibuprofen), max. daily dose in number of tablets: 2 film-coated tablets (corresponding to 800 mg ibuprofen).> 40 kg Children and adolescents aged 12 and over and adults: 1/2 - 1 film-coated tablet (corresponding to 200 - 400 mg ibuprofen), maximum daily dose in number of tablets: 3 film-coated tablets (corresponding to 1200 mg ibuprofen).If you have taken the maximum single dose, wait at least 6 hours before taking the next dose.Dosage in the elderly: No special dosage adjustment is required.Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.
If you have taken/used more than you should: Take/use the medicine according to your doctor's instructions or according to the dosage instructions provided.If you feel that you are not getting sufficient pain relief, do not increase the dosage yourself, but ask your doctor.Symptoms of an overdose may include central nervous disorders such as headaches, dizziness, drowsiness and unconsciousness (including seizures in children) as well as abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.Bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and dysfunction of the liver and kidneys are also possible.It can also lead to a drop in blood pressure, reduced breathing and a blue-red coloring of the skin and mucous membranes.There is no specific antidote.If you suspect an overdose, please notify your doctor.This can decide on any necessary measures depending on the severity of the poisoning.
If you forget to take/use IbuHexal acute: If you forget to take/use it once, do not take/use more than the usual recommended amount the next time you take it.
Intake
Please take the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. a glass of water).This promotes the onset of effect.The film-coated tablets can be taken regardless of meals.For patients who have a sensitive stomach, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.
