Areas of application

IbuHEXAL® plus paracetamol 200 mg/500 mg film-coated tablets are used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain.This pain can occur, for example, in back pain, headaches, muscle and joint pain, period pain or toothache.The medication is specifically indicated for pain that cannot be relieved by using ibuprofen or paracetamol alone.It is intended for adults aged 18 and over.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each film-coated tablet of IbuHEXAL® plus paracetamol contains 200 mg ibuprofen and 500 mg paracetamol as active ingredients.The other ingredients include corn starch, crospovidone (type A), colloidal silicon dioxide, povidone K30, pregelatinized starch (corn), talc, stearic acid (vegetable) in the tablet core and poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, macrogol 3350 and titanium dioxide in the film coating.

Dosage and intake

IbuHEXAL® plus Paracetamol is suitable for use by adults aged 18 and over.The recommended daily dose is one tablet up to three times a day.There should be a minimum interval of six hours between doses.No more than six tablets may be taken within 24 hours, which corresponds to a total of 1,200 mg ibuprofen and 3,000 mg paracetamol.The tablets should be taken with water and with food.The medication is only intended for short-term use of a maximum of three days.

Contraindications

IbuHEXAL® plus paracetamol should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Warnings and patient information

No prescription is required for this product.It contains paracetamol and should not be taken with other medicines containing paracetamol.In the event of an overdose, medical advice should be sought immediately, even if you feel well.If you have pain or fever without medical advice, the medication should not be used for longer than stated in the package leaflet.

It is important to talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine if you are elderly, have or have had asthma, have kidney, heart, liver or intestinal problems, inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) or problems urinating, are being treated at the same time as medicines that affect liver function, are allergic to other substances, have heartburn, indigestion, stomach ulcers or other stomach problems, are prone to bleeding, have Gilbert's syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) or another connective tissue disease, has gastrointestinal disorders or chronic inflammatory bowel disease, has an infection, has a congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, has porphyria, has hemolytic anemia, suffers from hay fever, nasal polyps or chronic obstructive airway disease, suffers from chronic alcoholism, is underweight or chronically malnourished, has a deficiency in total body water(dehydration), recently had major surgery, is in the first 6 months of pregnancy or is breastfeeding, is planning to become pregnant, has heart disease, including heart failure and angina (chest pain), or has had a heart attack, bypass surgery, peripheral artery disease or any type of stroke (including mini-stroke or transient ischemic attack ("TIA"), has high blood pressure, diabetes or high cholesterol, heart diseaseor if you have a family history of strokes or if you are a smoker.

Side effects can be minimized if the lowest effective dose needed to control symptoms is used for the shortest possible period of time.Concomitant use with NSAIDs, including selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors, increases the risk of adverse reactions and should be avoided.Taking higher than recommended doses does not provide better pain relief but carries the risk of serious liver damage.The maximum daily dose of paracetamol must therefore not be exceeded.Anti-inflammatories/painkillers such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration.

Serious skin reactions have been reported in association with treatment with the drug. If you develop a skin rash, mucous membrane lesions, blisters or other signs of allergy, you should stop taking the product and seek medical treatment immediately.This medicine may mask signs of infection such as fever and pain.It is therefore possible that the product may delay appropriate treatment of the infection, which may lead to an increased risk of complications.If you take this medicine during an infection and your infection symptoms persist or worsen, consult a doctor immediately.

Serious gastrointestinal adverse reactions have been reported with the use of NSAIDs, including ibuprofen.These can occur with or without warning symptoms.The risk of these side effects is higher in patients who have had stomach or intestinal ulcers in the past, especially if these were accompanied by bleeding or perforation.The risk of side effects in the gastrointestinal tract is increased in older patients.Prolonged use of painkillers for headaches can make them worse.If this is the case or suspected, you should speak to your doctor and stop treatment.Regular use of painkillers, especially if several painkillers are used at the same time, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure (analgesic nephropathy).This risk may be increased during physical exertion that involves salt loss or dehydration and should therefore be avoided.

If you notice problems with your vision after using the product, stop using it and consult a doctor.This medicine must not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.The medicine can cause dizziness, difficulty concentrating and drowsiness.If you are affected, do not drive or use any tools or machines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

IbuHEXAL® plus paracetamol should not be taken in the last three months of pregnancy.Its use should be avoided during the first six months of pregnancy unless directed by a doctor.Only small amounts of ibuprofen and its metabolites pass into breast milk.The drug can be taken during breastfeeding if taken at the recommended dose and for the shortest possible duration.
