Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.The product should not be taken if you have severe liver or kidney damage, a stroke, high blood pressure, heart disease or existing circulatory problems.Likewise, it should not be taken in parallel with other migraine medications of the same class or ergotamine type.

Dosage

Recommended use of Naratriptan HEXAL® for migraines 2.5 mg film-coated tablets: Take Naratriptan HEXAL® for migraines 2.5 mg film-coated tablets with a little water when a migraine attack begins.Naratriptan HEXAL® for migraines 2.5 mg film-coated tablets is not suitable for prophylaxis, but only works if the attack has already begun.The interval between 2 tablets of Naratriptan HEXAL® for migraine 2.5 mg film-coated tablets should always be at least 4 hours. No more than 2 tablets of Naratriptan HEXAL® for migraines 2.5 mg film-coated tablets should be taken within 24 hours.

Intake

The usual dose for adults aged 18 to 65 is one film-coated tablet, taken whole with water.

Patient information

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.If you have certain other risk factors, such as being a heavy smoker or taking nicotine replacement therapy, and especially if you are a man over 40 or a postmenopausal woman, this could mean that you are at increased risk of developing heart disease.Tell your doctor so that your heart function can be checked before you are prescribed naratriptan.If you are allergic to so-called sulfonamide antibiotics, you may also be allergic to naratriptan.If you know that you are allergic to an antibiotic but are not sure whether it is a sulfonamide, tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medication.Taking it too often may make your headaches worse.Tell your doctor if this applies to you.He may recommend that you stop taking it.If you feel chest pain or tightness after taking it, seek medical attention immediately.If you are taking medications for depression called SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) or SNRIs (serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors), tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.

Drowsiness can occur both from the migraine attack and from taking.If you are affected by this, do not drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.There is limited information on safety in pregnant women, although there is no evidence of an increased risk of birth defects.Your doctor may recommend that you not take naratriptan during pregnancy.Do not breastfeed your baby for 24 hours after taking it.If you express milk during this time, discard it and do not give it to your infant.

Application

The usual dose for adults over 18 years of age is 2.5 mg at the first sign of a migraine attack.Most migraine attacks are relieved with one dose (1 film-coated tablet) of Naratriptan HEXAL for migraines. However, if the first film-coated tablet has no effect, take KEINE more film-coated tablets to treat the same migraine attack, but ask your doctor for advice.Even if a migraine attack is not relieved by Naratriptan HEXAL for migraines, your next migraine attack may still respond to the medicine.If you have a ERNEUTEN migraine attack within 24 hours of the first attack, you can take 1 more film-coated tablet of Naratriptan HEXAL for migraine.However, do not take more than 2 film-coated tablets within 24 hours.You must always leave a gap of at least 4 hours between taking the film-coated tablets.
