General information about Anaesthesulf Lotio

Anaesthesulf Lotio is a medicine with a mild local anesthetic effect.It is used on the skin in infants, children and adults to relieve the sensation of itching, for example in varicella such as chickenpox and shingles.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Anaesthesulf Lotio is lauromacrogol 400, also known as polidocanol.100 grams of the suspension contains 8 grams of lauromacrogol 400. The other ingredients are zinc oxide, talc, titanium dioxide, methylcellulose, propylene glycol and purified water.

Areas of application

Anaesthesulf Lotio is used on the skin to relieve the itching sensation of varicella such as chickenpox and shingles.It has a local analgesic and itching effect by blocking the nerve pathways that register the pain and itching and transmit it to the brain.This makes the pain and itching less noticeable.In addition, sensitivity to cold, heat and pressure is reduced.

Application and dosage

Always use Anaesthesulf Lotio exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Shake bottle well before use.Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, Anaesthesulf is applied thinly to the itchy areas of the skin with a cotton ball one to three times a day.The suspension can also be applied over large areas.Before reapplication, the residue can be dabbed off with a damp cloth or rinsed off lightly with lukewarm water.

The duration of application depends on the type and course of the disease.In children, Anaesthesulf must not be used for longer than 1 week.In adults, Anaesthesulf should not be used for longer than 1 week without medical advice.If you want to use Anaesthesulf in adults for more than a week, talk to your doctor first.

Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Anaesthesulf is too strong or too weak.

Contraindications

Anaesthesulf Lotio must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to the ingredients or in premature babies in the first weeks of life.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should not use the preparation over large areas and for no longer than 1 week or, if expressly advised by your doctor, for a maximum of 2 weeks.If you are breastfeeding, please do not use the medicine on the breast.

Side effects

Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for Anaesthesulf Lotio.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep Anaesthesulf Lotio out of the reach of children.Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the bottle and carton.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.No special storage conditions are required for the unopened medicine.After first opening, do not store above 25°C.Shelf life is 3 months after opening.

Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
