Instructions for use of Calcivit D effervescent tablets

Calcivit D effervescent tablets are a medicine that is used to prevent and treat calcium deficiency and to support special therapy for osteoporosis.It is also used in addition to vitamin D3 to treat rickets and osteomalacia.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients of Calcivit D effervescent tablets are calcium carbonate and colecalciferol.Each effervescent tablet contains 1500 mg calcium carbonate, equivalent to 600 mg calcium, and 4 mg colecalciferol dry concentrate, equivalent to 400 IU vitamin D3.The other ingredients include, among others, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol, malic acid, citric acid, colloidal silicon dioxide, maltodextrin, medium-chain triglycerides, sodium ascorbate, sodium carbonate, sodium cyclamate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, saccharin sodium, starch, modified (corn), sucrose and lemon flavor.

Calcivit D is used for proven calcium and vitamin D3 deficiencies and to support the treatment of osteoporosis.It helps regulate calcium levels and strengthen bone structure.

Dosage and application

Adults usually take one effervescent tablet twice a day.The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.The duration of use is determined by the doctor.It is important not to exceed the recommended dose unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Contraindications

Calcivit D must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium carbonate or colecalciferol, if you have too high calcium concentrations in the blood or increased calcium excretion in the urine, or if you suffer from certain diseases such as kidney stones, tissue calcification of the kidneys or a vitamin D overdose.Children and adolescents should not take the medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Calcivit D can also have side effects.Possible side effects include increased blood calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in urine, flatulence, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, itching, rash, and hives.Systemic allergic reactions can occur very rarely.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Warnings and precautions

During long-term treatment, blood calcium levels and kidney function should be monitored regularly.This is particularly important in older patients and when taking certain medicines such as cardiac glycosides or diuretics.Patients with a tendency to stone formation should also be monitored regularly.When taking Calcivit D, calcium and alkali intake from other sources should be taken into account in order to avoid milk-alkaline syndrome.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Calcivit D.During pregnancy, daily intake should not exceed 1500 mg calcium and 600 IU vitamin D.During breastfeeding, calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk, so you should consult your doctor if your child is already receiving products containing vitamin D.

Storage

Store Calcivit D at a temperature not exceeding 30°C and protect it from moisture.The medicine should be stored in the original packaging and the container should be kept tightly closed to protect the contents from moisture.Once the tube has been opened, the medicine can be used until the end of the expiry date.
