Areas of application

Livocab direct nasal spray for allergies is used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever.It is suitable for children aged 1 year and over, teenagers and adults.The nasal spray contains the active ingredient levocabastine, which has a quick and long-lasting effect.A noticeable improvement in symptoms can be noticed after just 10 to 15 minutes.

Mode of action

The active ingredient levocabastine in Livocab direct nasal spray belongs to the group of antihistamines.It suppresses allergic symptoms directly on the nose.Since only small amounts of active ingredients are used per application, the nasal spray is particularly well tolerated and has little or no sedating effect.It is approved for use in nursing mothers and children aged 1 year and older.

Livocab direct nasal spray contains the following active ingredients and excipients: - 0.054 mg levocabastine hydrochloride - 0.05 mg levocabastine - 0.015 mg disodium edetate-2-water (excipient) - Disodium hydrogen phosphate (excipient) - Hypromellose (excipient) - Sodium dihydrogen phosphate-1-water (excipient) - Polysorbate 80 (excipient) - Propylene glycol (excipient) - 0.015 mg benzalkonium chloride (excipient)

Contraindications

The medicine must not be used if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to levocabastine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.

Dosage

The recommended dosage for adults, adolescents and children aged 1 year and over is 2 sprays per nostril twice daily.If the symptoms are more severe, the dosage can be increased to 2 sprays per nostril up to 4 times a day.The duration of application depends on the type and course of the symptoms.There is no time limit to consider.

Intake

1) Blow your nose carefully before use. 2) The medicine is a suspension.Please shake the bottle before each use! 3) Remove the protective cap from the bottle. 4) Before using the medicine for the first time, hold the spray bottle with the opening facing up and pump several times until a fine spray is created.For subsequent applications, the spray bottle is usually ready to use immediately. 5) Tilt your head slightly forward and spray twice into each nostril. 6) Breathe in through your nose while using. 7) After use, put the protective cap back on.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using the drug if you suffer from impaired kidney function.In this case, you should halve the dose because the active ingredient levocabastine is mainly excreted via the kidneys.The medicine generally has no effect on concentration and attention.When using the drug, complaints such as fatigue, fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness or weakness have been reported in individual cases.These can also be caused by the allergic symptoms themselves.In such cases, the ability to drive or use machines may be impaired and caution is advised.Please note that alcohol can further impair your ability to drive.Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children.

Pregnancy

Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.Animal studies have shown no evidence of harmful effects on the developing embryo or fetus.However, there is no experience in humans.If you are pregnant or think you are pregnant, you should only use this medicine after consulting your doctor.You should not use the medicine in the first three months of pregnancy.Unless your doctor recommends otherwise, you can use the medicine while breastfeeding.

Notes

After opening, Livocab direct nasal spray can be used for another 12 weeks in case of allergies.No prescription is required for this product.For information about risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Other

Since the drug is mainly excreted via the kidneys, careful dosing is indicated in cases of renal impairment.If the recommended amounts do not provide sufficient relief from symptoms, you should consult a doctor.When using the nasal spray, complaints such as fatigue, fatigue, exhaustion, dizziness or weakness, which can also be caused by the disease, have been reported in individual cases.In these cases, the ability to drive a motor vehicle and operate machines may be impaired. It should be particularly noted that alcohol can further impair your ability to drive.

Storage

Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the bottle and carton after “Use by”.The expiry date refers to the last day of the specified month.Do not store above 30°C.After opening the bottle, Livocab direct nasal spray can be used for three months, but at most until the end of the specified expiry date.Never dispose of medicines via wastewater.Ask your pharmacy how to throw away medicine when you no longer use it.
