Voltaren pain gel contains the active ingredient diclofenac-N-ethylethanamine.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain in adults and adolescents aged 14 and over.The areas of application include acute strains, sprains or bruises caused by blunt trauma, such as sports and accidental injuries.The gel can also be used for pain in the soft tissues near the joints, such as bursa, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments, muscle attachments and joint capsules, for osteoarthritis of the knee and finger joints and for epicondylitis (inflammation of the tendon attachments in the elbow area).In adolescents aged 14 and over, it is used for the short-term treatment of pain from acute bruises, strains or sprains.

The product contains propylene glycol and fragrances.No prescription is required for this product.

Voltaren pain gel consists of various excipients, including purified water, 2-propanol, propylene glycol, cocoylcaprylocaprate (Ph.Eur.), paraffin, cetomacrogol, carbomer 974 P, N-ethylethanamine and perfume cream containing benzyl benzoate.

Contraindications

Voltaren pain gel must not be used if you are hypersensitive to the ingredients. Caution is advised in chronic obstructive respiratory diseases, chronic respiratory infections, bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis and nasal polyps.Children under 14 years of age are not allowed to use the gel.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition

Voltaren pain gel contains the active ingredients diclofenac diethylamine (11.61 mg) and diclofenac (9.31 mg) as well as the excipients purified water, isopropanol, propylene glycol (50 mg), cocoyl caprylocaprate, thick paraffin, ceteth, carbomer 974 P, diethylamine, perfume cream, benzyl benzoate, benzyl alcohol, citral, citronellol,Coumarin, D-Limonene, Eugenol, Farnesol, Geraniol and Linalool.

Mode of action

The active ingredient diclofenac has a pain-relieving, fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory effect.It blocks the formation of prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.This means that the gel also has anti-rheumatic properties.

Important notes

Patients with nasal polyps, chronic respiratory infections, asthma or a tendency to allergic reactions should consult their doctor before use.Solvents such as propylene glycol can cause skin irritation.No prescription is required for this product.

Storage

The medicine may be used for a maximum of 3 years after opening and must be stored at room temperature.
