Otriven for colds 0.05% nose drops contain the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride.No prescription is required for this product.The nasal drops have been specially developed for children between 2 and 6 years old.They help to reduce the swelling of the nasal mucosa in the event of a runny nose, episodic runny nose and allergic rhinitis.They also facilitate the drainage of secretions in cases of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and catarrh of the tubal middle ear in conjunction with a runny nose.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The nasal drops contain 0.5 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride per milliliter.The following excipients are also included: sodium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate-12-water, sodium dihydrogen phosphate-2-water, disodium edetate-2-water, benzalkonium chloride and purified water.Benzalkonium chloride can irritate the nasal mucosa.

Application and dosage

Before use, the nose should be blown thoroughly.The drops are instilled into each nostril with the head bent back.The head should be turned slightly left and right while breathing in through the nose.The last application of each treatment day should be before going to bed.

Children 2 to 6 years old receive 1 drop per nostril, 1 to 3 times daily at an interval of 8 to 10 hours.The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.The application should not last longer than 7 days.

Precautions
