Isotonic sodium chloride solution 0.9% Eifelfango injection solution is a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and compatible medications.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredient and composition

The active ingredient in this injection solution is sodium chloride.1000 ml of the solution contains 9.00 g of sodium chloride.The solution also contains water for injection purposes and hydrochloric acid for pH adjustment.1 ml of the solution contains 0.154 mmol Cl- and 0.154 mmol Na+.

Areas of application

This solution serves as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates and compatible medications.

Contraindications

The application is not suitable if there is an increased sodium content in the blood (hypernatremia) or an increased chloride content in the blood (hyperchloremia).

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

There are no concerns about use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Precautions and Interactions

To date, there are no known special precautions or interactions with other products.

Type and duration of application

The solution can be injected subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously.The dosage, type of application and duration of use depend on the information for the drug dissolved in the solution.When used as a carrier solution for electrolyte concentrates, the application instructions for the medication to be mixed must be observed.

Overdose

Symptoms of an overdose may include overhydration, increased sodium and chloride levels in the blood (hypernatremia, hyperchloremia), hyperosmolarity and an acidotic metabolic state.In the event of an overdose, the supply of the solution should be interrupted, accelerated elimination via the kidneys should be sought and the supply of the corresponding electrolytes should be reduced.

Side effects

When used as directed, no side effects are to be expected.

Durability and storage

The medicine may no longer be used after the expiry date stated on the folding box and the ampoule.Only clear solutions in intact containers should be used.The solution must be used immediately after opening and any remaining stock must be discarded.Medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.
