Areas of application

Cloderm Cream 1% is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent used for various fungal skin infections.These include infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts such as Candida species, molds and other fungal species such as Malassezia furfur.Infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum can also be treated with this remedy.Typical areas of application are mycoses of the feet, skin and skin folds, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma and superficial candidiasis.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Cloderm Cream 1% is clotrimazole.Each gram of the cream contains 10 milligrams of clotrimazole.In addition, the cream contains the following excipients: sorbitan stearate, polysorbate 60, benzyl alcohol, purified water, cetyl palmitate, cetylstearyl alcohol and 2-octyl-1-dodecanol.Cloderm Cream 1% also contains cetostearyl alcohol and benzyl alcohol, which can cause skin irritation.

Dosage and application

Cloderm Cream 1% should be applied thinly to the affected skin areas 2-3 times a day and rubbed in.A small amount of cream, about half the length of a centimeter, is enough to cover an area the size of a palm.The duration of use depends on the type and extent of the disease.It is important to use it regularly and for a sufficiently long period of time to achieve complete healing.For pityriasis versicolor, treatment usually lasts 1-3 weeks, for erythrasma 2-4 weeks.In the case of athlete's foot, treatment should be continued for about two weeks after the signs of the disease have disappeared.

Contraindications

Cloderm Cream 1% must not be used if you are allergic to clotrimazole, benzyl alcohol or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.If you are hypersensitive to cetostearyl alcohol, a dosage form that does not contain cetostearyl alcohol should be used.If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before use.Clotrimazole should not be used in early pregnancy out of caution.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Cloderm Cream 1% can have side effects, although not everyone gets them.Skin reactions such as burning or stinging can often occur.If you are hypersensitive to cetostearyl alcohol, allergic skin reactions may occur.Benzyl alcohol can also cause allergic reactions.If you notice any side effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Storage

Keep Cloderm Cream 1% out of the reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the tube and carton.After first opening, the cream has a shelf life of 6 months.Do not dispose of the medicine via wastewater, but ask your pharmacy about the correct disposal method.
