Paracetamol AbZ 500 mg tablets are a painkilling and antipyretic medicine that is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever.The active ingredient paracetamol has a pain-relieving and antipyretic effect by blocking the formation of certain messenger substances in the body that are involved in the development of pain, fever and inflammation.
Areas of application
Paracetamol AbZ 500 mg tablets are used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever.These include, among other things, headaches, period pains and toothaches.
Dosage and application
The tablets should always be taken exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.The dosage depends on the patient's body weight and age.As a rule, the single dose is 10 to 15 mg of paracetamol per kilogram of body weight, but not more than 60 mg per kilogram of body weight per day.
Children 4-8 years old with a body weight of 17-25 kg should take 1/2 tablet (250 mg paracetamol) 1-4 times a day with an interval of at least 6 hours.Children 8-11 years old with a body weight of 26-32 kg should take 1/2 tablet (250 mg paracetamol) 4-6 times a day with an interval of at least 6 hours.Children 11-12 years old with a body weight of 33-43 kg should take 1 tablet (500 mg paracetamol) 1-4 times a day with an interval of at least 6 hours.Adolescents aged 12 and over and adults weighing over 43 kg should take 1-2 tablets (500-1000 mg paracetamol) 1-4 times a day at least 6 hours apart.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.The tablet can be divided into equal doses.The medicine should not be taken for longer than 3 days without medical or dental advice.
Special patient groups
In patients with liver dysfunction or renal insufficiency, the dose must be reduced or the dose interval extended.Elderly patients generally do not require specific dose adjustment, however, in debilitated, immobilized elderly patients with impaired liver or kidney function, a dose reduction or extension of the dosing interval may be necessary.
Storage
Keep this medicine out of the reach and reach of children.You must not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the outer carton and the blister after “Use by”.Keep the blister tightly closed and store in the outer carton to protect the contents from light and moisture.
Composition
The active ingredient is paracetamol.Each tablet contains 500 mg paracetamol.The other ingredients are povidone, croscarmellose sodium, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide and talc.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.If you have impaired liver function, alcohol abuse, impaired kidney function, Gilbert's syndrome, hereditary enzyme disorder, anemia due to the rapid breakdown of red blood cells, glutathione deficiency, lack of fluids or malnutrition, the medicine should only be taken after consulting a doctor or pharmacist.
Side effects
Only side effects that have so far only occurred in exceptional cases are described for the drug.If you notice any discomfort or change during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Important notes
If you have pain or fever, do not use for longer than stated in the package leaflet without medical advice.If you use painkillers long-term, you may experience headaches caused by the painkiller.Habitual use of painkillers can cause permanent kidney damage.If you drink alcohol regularly or at high levels, life-threatening conditions can arise due to existing liver damage if the medicine is also used.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Paracetamol should only be taken during pregnancy after carefully weighing the benefit-risk ratio.Paracetamol passes into breast milk. Since there are no known adverse consequences for the infant, interrupting breastfeeding is usually not necessary.
