What is Loratadine STADA® and what is it used for?
Loratadine STADA® is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergic symptoms.It helps with allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, and hives of unknown cause, also known as chronic idiopathic urticaria.The active ingredient loratadine suppresses the effect of the messenger histamine, which plays a central role in allergic reactions.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Each tablet contains 10 mg of the active ingredient loratadine.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate and corn starch.It is important to note that the product contains lactose.
Areas of application
Loratadine STADA® is used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, such as hay fever, and chronic hives.It inhibits the binding of histamine to the H1 receptors and thus prevents allergic reactions.The medication works for 24 hours and only needs to be taken once a day.
Dosage and application
The tablets are intended to be taken orally and can be taken with a glass of water, regardless of meals.The recommended dosage for adults and children over 12 years of age and for children 2 to 12 years of age weighing more than 30 kg is one tablet once daily.The tablet is not suitable for children weighing 30 kg or less.Patients with severe liver damage should take the tablet every other day.

Contraindications
Loratadine STADA® must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to loratadine or any of the other ingredients.The medicine should not be used in infants and small children under 2 years of age and in children weighing less than 30 kg.Its use is also not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Side effects
Children under 12 may experience headaches, nervousness and tiredness.In adolescents aged 12 and over and adults, possible side effects include increased appetite, headaches, drowsiness and insomnia.If you notice any undesirable effects, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Keep the medicine out of the reach and reach of children and do not use it after the expiry date stated on the package.No special storage conditions are required.Do not dispose of medicines in the wastewater, but take them to the pharmacy for disposal.

If you have severe liver dysfunction, use should be discussed with a doctor.If a skin test is planned, the intake should be stopped at least 48 hours beforehand.In rare cases, dizziness may occur, which may impair the ability to drive or operate machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
No teratogenic effects of loratadine were found in animal studies.However, the safety of use during pregnancy has not been proven, which is why its use is not recommended.Since loratadine passes into breast milk, its use is also not recommended during breastfeeding.
